Hudson Valley Home Burglary Suspect Nabbed, Police Say

A man who allegedly forced his way into a Hudson Valley home and stole property is behind bars.

The incident occurred in Dutchess County at 4:50 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 6, on Franklin Street in the city of Poughkeepsie.

According to Poughkeepsie Police, an investigation determined that the suspect forced entry into a private residence and stole property. The suspect had fled the scene before police notification. 

Through the course of the investigation, the suspect was identified as Matthew G. Thomas, age 41, address unknown.

At  7 am, Thomas was located by patrol officers and taken into custody without incident. He was charged with burglary and transported to headquarters for processing. 

Thomas was booked and held pending arraignment with additional charges possible.
